Expected Developmental Milestones
- Rolls from back to stomach
- Sits unaided
- Crawls on hands and knees
- Pulls up to a standing position
- Makes purposeful arm and leg movements - e.g. moves to pick up toy and then
spends time actively playing with it.
Parents should be concerned if (amongst other factors)
- The child usually 'bottom-shuffles' and either does not go through the
crawling stage or passes through very quickly
- The child cannot sit unaided at 9 - 12 months
- High levels of motor activity
- Repetitive arm and hand movements
- Additional repetitive head movements - 'rolling' and 'banging'
